A Big Step Forward: PCK Pre-Registration Exam Wraps Up at JKUAT
On the 23rd and 24th of June 2025, the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya successfully conducted the Pre-Registration Examination at JKUAT’s College of Human Resource Education (COHRED), a key milestone for physiotherapy graduates ready to step into the profession.
A total of 186 candidates participated in this year’s exam, including three foreign-trained students, all aiming to earn their license to practice physiotherapy in Kenya. The students represented a broad spectrum of training institutions across the country, including KMTC, JKUAT, and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, among others.
About the Exam
This written examination is a mandatory requirement for all physiotherapy graduates in Kenya before they can be officially licensed. It assesses their readiness to join the professional world and ensures that every physiotherapist meets national standards for knowledge and competence.
Prepping for Success
To help students feel confident and ready, PCK hosted a rehearsal session on 22nd June at the same venue. The session brought together the candidates for a briefing on what to expect, familiarized them with the environment, and gave them a chance to ask last-minute questions, which formed a thoughtful move that helped ease nerves and build focus.
Leadership Presence
The examination was graced by top leadership from the Council, including the Chairman and CEO of PCK, who were present to oversee the process and offer encouragement. Their presence was a strong show of support for the next generation of physiotherapists and reaffirmed PCK’s commitment to upholding high professional standards in healthcare.
Moving Forward
While results are yet to be released, this year’s pre-registration exam marks a significant transition for these aspiring professionals. For many, it’s the final hurdle before officially entering the workforce as licensed physiotherapists, ready to make a difference in Kenya’s health sector.
To all the candidates: congratulations on reaching this far! The journey hasn’t been easy, but you’ve shown commitment, courage, and competence. We’re rooting for you as you await your results, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the profession.
